NOCO FOOD DRIVE DONATION PIC 2018

Wellington Food Bank – December 6th, 2018

($350.00 – 2018 NOCO Food Drive sponsored and donated by Poudre Valley REA)

Poudre Valley REA recently featured the results of the 2018 NOCO Food Drive in their January 2019 Newsletter…….and the Wellington Area Chamber Of Commerce WON 1st PLACE!!! Not only did the Wellington Food Bank benefit from all the food donations, but Poudre Valley REA matched the 1st Place cash prize of $350 to give back to the Wellington Food Bank.

Thank you Poudre Valley REA for organizing this event and to Old Colorado Brewing Company, The Kinzli Team at REMAX Alliance and Anytime Fitness for teaming up with the Wellington Chamber and generously offering to be an additional drop off location for food items.

Wellington McKinney Project – December 18th, 2018

($1,000.00 – 2018 Annual Dinner & Meeting)

The McKinney – Vento Homeless Assistance Act is Title X Part C of the No Child Left Behind Act. This legislation ensures that children and youth experiencing homelessness have full and equal access to appropriate public education and that they experience success in school. Christie Brucher assists the Wellington Middle School, Rice Elementary School, and Eyestone Elementary School by making sure that those students have what they need. That includes food, shelter, school supplies, transportation and anything else they need to be successful.

Harvest Farm – October 5th, 2018

Board Member and Chamber 2 Rounds Coordinator, Ben Parsons, proudly presented the Fort Collins Rescue Mission and Harvest Farm with a donation check from this year’s disc golf charity event to help support the wonderful work this organization does in our community.

Fort Collins Rescue Mission provides emergency services to those experiencing homelessness in Fort Collins, including overnight shelter and hot meals. In addition to hot meals and overnight shelter, FCRM provides a short-term transitional program for adult men and women called Steps to Success. The goal is to help people become productive, self-sufficient members of the community.

The Clubs in Wellington, Fort Collins, and Loveland are open daily after school and during the summer and all school breaks. They also, have a club in Estes Park open during the summer. We offer proven youth development programs in a wide variety of areas. The community of staff, volunteers, parents, youth and supporters work together to create a positive place, full of hope and opportunity, for every child.
